Ed Lode

November 10, 1945 — August 8, 2023

Edward H. Lode, 77, of Judith Gap passed away August 8, 2023 at his residence in Judith Gap. He was born November 10, 1945 in Lewistown, MT to his parents Harim and Helen (Tucker) Lode. 

Ed was a member of the United States Army and a Vietnam War Veteran serving from 1964 – 1967 as a diesel mechanic. He was a life member of the NRA, DAV, Harlowton VFW Post 1551, 50-year member of Judith Gap American Legion Post 70, serving as their adjutant. Ed was a rancher for over 50 years with his wife Judy, raising cows, sheep, and hay. 

Ed enjoyed hunting and attending the annual Lode In-Laws and Outlaws Hunting Camp, He enjoyed lambing season, Sudoku books, and spending time with his family, especially his beloved dog “Spud”.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Judy Lode of Judith Gap, daughter Theresa Lode of Billings, son Howard Lode (Tennia) of Belgrade, grandchildren Tynan, Hunter, and Tamika, adopted granddaughter Ellis Van Riper of North Yorkshire, England, sister Sandra Whitney (Jay) of Big Fork, nephews Bryron Whitney, James Lode, Jesse Lode & Jeffrey Lode, niece Allene Whitney & Lynna Deemer, numerous great nieces and nephews.

Ed is preceded in death by his parents Harim & Helen (Tucker) Lode and brother Warren Lode. 

A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 4:00 pm at the Harlowton Kiwanis Youth Center in Harlowton. 

Memorial contributions can be made in Edward's name to American Legion Post 70 in Judith Gap, Cancer Colors Celebration in Lewistown, St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.perkinsfuneralandcremation.com/obituaries.
