James John Kromka, Jr., 57, of Shawmut, died at home Tuesday, May 2, 2023. He was born in Denville, NJ. on March 19, 1966, to Dolores and James Kromka Sr. He grew up in Boonton, NJ, attending high school there and graduating in 1984. He then attended Valley Forge Military Academy in Pennsylvania for 1 year.
James was employed as a carpenter for years, subsequently developing his own construction business. His love of hunting, fishing and target shooting led him to employment with Griffin & Howe, Inc., through which he generated a personal career as a hunting guide and marksmanship tutor. Upon relocating to Montana in recent years and building his dream home, he also became a substitute teacher at Harlowton High School.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. James Sr.; and is survived by his mother, Dolores Kromka of Boonton, NJ his sister, Nancy Kromka of Amherst, MA, and step-father, Rev. Harold Johnson
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 27 at 1pm at the Shawmut Community Center in Shawmut, MT. Memorials in James’ name may be made to Tunnels To Towers Foundation (https://t2t.org). Condolences for the family may be posted on-line at www.perkinsfuneralandcremation.com.
