Sally Ann Schuchard, 78, of Harlowton, MT, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 at the Wheatland Memorial Hospital in Harlowton. She was born in Billings, MT, on October 2, 1945 to her parents Gregory & Edna Leary. She was a longtime Harlowton resident.
Sally was raised in Harlowton, graduating from Harlowton High School in 1963. Sally met her husband Norman Schuchard in Floyd's Ice Cream Parlor, while on the jukebox the song "I Want to be a Cowboy's Sweetheart" was playing. They were married October 22, 1963 in Harlowton. Norman & Sally worked and lived on ranches for several years. They also moved to Arizona, California, and Texas; all of these moves were horse related. In 1981, they moved back to Harlowton for the last time and finally found what they were looking for.
Sally worked outside the home for over 50 years. She had various jobs. She worked as a bank teller, was secretary of the Pacific Coast Cutting Horse Association. She later worked for Painter's Grocery. Sally worked in the business office at Wheatland Memorial Hospital, a job she loved for over 20 years. She also worked at Elk River Systems for over a decade.
Sally is survived by her husband of 60 years, Norman Schuchard of Harlowton, sons Norman Schuchard II of Georgia, Shawn Schuchard (Tammy) of Lewistown, daughter Lisa Schuchard of Harlowton, sister Mary Holland of Harlowton, grandson Chad Baumgardner (Joceline) of Boerne, TX, great-granddaughter Scottie May & great grandson Rivers and numerous nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her son Scott Schuchard, parents Gregory & Edna Leary & brother Gene Leary.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Perkins Funeral Home in Harlowton. Pastor Jack Runner will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Harlowton Cemetery in Harlowton.
